LAKE ISABELLA KOKANEE SALMON FISHING
|
Occasionally a trout fisherman will be surprised when he lands what he thinks is a hybrid trout when in fact it is a Kokanee Salmon. The Kokanee is the same species as the Sockeye Salmon only it has been landlocked so it's spawn doesn't return to the ocean. Kokanee prefer lake waters vs. the river. The Kokanee rarely grow over 14" long and are stocked by the Department of Fish and Game.
