Why Lake Isabella Holds the Next World Record!

ASK ANY EXPERT and they will tell you that California is the capital of the world when it comes to largemouth bass fishing! Although an introduced species, they have quickly adapted and thrive on a diet of trout. Trout are a high protein diet that helps them grow at an amazing rate! California currently holds 21 out of 25 listings on the top 25 world record bass by weight! Lake Isabella holds one of those rankings and at various points in time has held 3 record bass. Most of the lakes you will see on the list, are heavily fished (high pressure) lakes so of course more record fish are caught there. Most professional anglers aren't aware of the trophy fish our lake holds because local anglers don't brag about the quality of fishing here as they don't want to compete for shore or boat access on the lake from outsiders. Large bass are caught on a regular basis at Lake Isabella, 5 - 10 lb. bass are frequently caught and released and seasoned anglers often take in fish over 10 lbs. Lake Isabella has a bountiful supply of food for the bass as the California Department of Fish and Game regularly stocks the lake with trout. The large bass that are caught here are regularly released back to the lake to feed some more and grow even larger making Lake Isabella the ideal lake for the next world record largemouth bass!
